Social Marketing’s Benefits Rival Email for Small Businesses

Aprill 2011 survey from Pitney Bowles indicates that by some measures social media closely competes with email. While respon

dents chose email as the most cost effective and easiest to use, social marketing tactics came in a close second and significantly ahead of direct mail and advertising.

These results are comparable to our own experience where we find that social media sites such as LinkedIn generate the largest number of responses after email and telemarketing.
